First of all grades:
- Compact and lightweight
- Image Stabilizer effective for shooting at medium distance
- Optical quality excellent in the center of f / 2.8 to f / 8
Now what angers:
- The working distance (distance between the subject and the front lens) is really short: I measured less than 6 cm compared to 9.5 cm x1 to x0.5 report
- The stabilizer close quarters shooting, ineffective, impossible to have a clear picture at 1 / 80s, even using the electronic shutter
- Also in macro, focus slowness, that does not compensate the ring in manual MAP (it is not mechanical, but in fact enslaves the AF motor, one sometimes has the impression that it rotates the void)
- The sharpness beyond f / 11, which significantly degrades (damage macro is often used where small openings)
The 12-35 f / 2.8 and 60mm Olympus macro, I also used, seem to me much better optical quality and manufacturing quality.
I tend to put 4 stars for its purely intrinsic qualities (optics, compactness), but I put that three given the price way, way too high considering the overall quality.
I should see the test published by dpreview, happens more or less the same conclusions.
I returned after 8 days Amazon.
