The first two volumes were a challenge for the average reader: he finally happening not much, not to say anything.
We're "only" witness the establishment of a framework, a work worthy of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, but it is a fact that happened after we are somewhat skeptical, and we let train in the suite just on principle, "to see" what will happen ...
a few volumes later it was a little afraid that the author falls into the ease and grind with this quest through distrans portals, for those who arrived in this latest installment they will have noticed that this is not the case.
I loved this constant wealth this way to avoid monotony, especially these last two volumes; I think they are my favorite anyway ... maybe Dan Simmons did it unleashed on these volumes, reaching the conclusion which have completed the biggest in its history, at least I found them more fluid volumes, and this one I devoured faster than others.
Finally one can witness the romance between our heroes, a complex and absolute romance, beautiful and tragic at the same time, one can only identify with Raul who sent us without pretense feelings and emotions with simplicity and almost naive, and focuses more by this new emotion to the characters as before.
I admit I had some tears on the outcome and left with the feeling of a major work, moved and happy to be able to read it.
