A selection of 14 more or less famous film songs is offered here, the cover of the melody and the tempos a wide range. Here lies the first problem for me, because in the sum results in a somewhat arbitrary sequence of titles that partially but express extremely different moods. The tracks are also usually performed relatively straight, deconstructions or improvisations nobody should expect. I've heard the album three times now and think it's edible, interestingly, when the sun than in the evening.
Technically the whole is excellent, the cleanliness of the sounds (especially of course at Tills trumpet) is exceptional and the mixture is extremely professional.
As for the titles, so I have some clear favorites, but I am also clear disappointment of other interpretations.
What Lizzy Cuesta the wonderful Moon River is doing, I unfortunately do not like. I find its vocals inappropriate timid and not enough elegiac. When you wish upon a star is consistently interpreted against the titled own sweetness, but lose in my eyes by simply a lot of its charm.
Great contrast Il Postino, I had the quality of this title (and, incidentally, the film) already forgotten. Positively surprised me Crockett's Theme, the win also totally convinced by the Arrangement, and even over the original in my eyes. My Heart Will Go On what I think is convincing, and also Happy is justified.
Hear multiple may bring further insights.
The bottom line for me is more light than shadow, but you're doing more easily with the work, if one also connects with what the films. If that is not the case, I can understand already that you can dismiss the whole thing as Easy Listening and unnecessary. Accessible is such a judgment in my eyes but not.
