A must for fans of the TV series and Heavy Rain

In the computer game series "The Walking Dead" it accompanies the main characters Lee and Clementine in the post-apocalyptic scenario in which (as the name suggests) the dead rise, threatening the humanity still remaining in their existence. Who now believes to have landed in a typical cliché of every zombie film which should not judge too hastily.

For those who do not know: The game is modeled with a very unique story of the eponymous comic and television series by Robert Kirkman, ie knowledge of the series to be just as entertained as newcomer of the TWD universe. It is actually thrown immediately into the deep end in the story. After a car accident, our main protagonist Lee Everett learns the girl Clementine happens to know when he, on the run from the first encounter with the living dead, seeks refuge in her house. Clementine's parents are out of town at the time and no sign of the baby-sitter, so Lee takes the fate of the young girl on. On another trip the two take within 5 documents for a course on new, but also old familiar characters of the TV series.

I want but not necessarily well received at this point closer to the story and give too much away. Instead, I'd like to explain why The Walking Dead is not just another zombie game is and what makes the fascination. As in "The Last of Us" a special, very inner father-daughter develops between Lee and Clementine relationship. It feels strongly connected with the characters and very feverish with them with the gameplay. This is in my opinion the main reason why The Walking Dead is not just a normal zombie game, because the created atmosphere is carried 1: 1 to the player. The relationships and dynamics between the characters within the group plays a very important role, which has never been in the form of a zombie movie or game since. At the same time makes the game, just like the series, does not stop at unpopular decisions that one has to take as a player, nor against losses of beloved characters. Who played on the PS3 Heavy Rain, will immediately feel at home, because with The Walking Dead is in some way a kind of interactive movie in which decisions have an impact on the future course of the story.

Anyone who has played other "Telltale Games" games like "Monkey Iceland" or "Back to the Future", will know that the control in the games of the manufacturer always represents a small flaw. Every now and then is the movement of the character a bit spongy, but since the controller does not require quite as much sensitivity and is quite simple, that is to get over.

Highly recommended is definitely the game for all fans of the TV series and fans of Heavy Rain. It will address core gamers can engage in a profound, interactive story, as well as casual gamers, because the control is kept very beginner-friendly. Who plays especially games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, and an action-packed Zombiegemetzel expected, perhaps we should rather do without.
