The color (of course it is white matte and not glossy) and quality are reminiscent of an Apple accessory.
Of reasonable size 45mm x 18mm x 12mm to integrate two connectors, it exceeds 37mm your MAC when connected. Thereupon you connect your FireWire 400/400 cable. I have not found anything more compact. If you want more compact then you have to adopt a mixed FireWire 400/800 cable.
This is a "must have" to put in his bag for all aficionados of Apple, FireWire 800 is not present everywhere.
Regarding the seller Neet I will post a fast shipping.
As a reminder:
The advantages of FireWire are:
- The availability of all the bandwidth to connected equipment because there is no sharing, so no interruption, as with USB or 400MHz or 800MHz depending on the FW used. The USB 2.0 is theoretically 480MHz.
- The direct supply option because the available power is greater than that provided by USB. Thus the equipment a little greedy (external sound cards, ...) can walk independently, simply connected to the FW (400), then they will be connected to their 230V if used via USB.
In conclusion if you have a choice, prefer the FireWire connection especially if you can have a 800MHz link.
