Anyway (I have not listened to the CD version, and especially I have not had the chance to see them live, so I have no point of comparison) I find the sound of this vinyl disappointing; the dynamic is correct, but no more. The instruments do not have a lot of material, and it is particularly regrettable for the sound of the drums of Mark Guiliana, which has no terrain, no texture, it is easy to compare it to the album done with Brad Meldhau here it seems reduced to a rather dull back plan. The low Avishai Cohen is well highlighted on several tracks, but not all. If I had to use an image (consistent with the cover), this album appears "black and white", both instruments lack color, texture.
Beyond that, the sound is generally confused or draft. The instruments do not stand out clearly, we do not distinguish background, you lose a lot of dialogue between the musicians (we do not feel the game the trio, actually). This is annoying because there is a priori no great difficulty in recording a trio like this, it is even one of the most proven formulas in the field of jazz.
To realize the blandness of the recording, just listen to the vinyl version of some ECM productions, Rune Gramofon, ACT, or Jazz Valley, etc., with trios or small quite similar formations, the difference in quality is more than obvious.
To summarize, I would not advise the vinyl version, because I think this is just a transfer of the CD version.
