Whether all-time classics such as "Hero" and "Without you", but also lesser-known, older songs like "Love Takes Time" or the most successful US single, "One Sweet Day" with Boyz II Men - it's all there!
However ... Somewhere there's a little too much!
Mariah in 1998 brought the really good Best of "# 1's" out, which already contains 16 (!!!) of the 28 pre-led tracks here. It is, in my opinion, the better choice! "# 1's" contains all the no. 1 hit to 1998 plus four additional bonus tracks. While on the submitted in this "Greatest Hits" is finally the famous duet with Luther Vandross "Endless Love" to be found, what really inexplicable lacked last time, but it lacks the absolute hammer track "Whenever You Call" now here. My personal favorite Mariah, in a duet with soul King Brian McKnight.
Positive on this double CD are definitely the newer songs "Heartbreaker" with Jay-Z, "Thank God I Found You" with Joe & 98 °, as well as "Can not Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)", a really big number. Even the Westlife duet and Phil Collins cover "Against all odds" to be proud of. However, all other tracks, regardless of whether "I Do not Wanna Cry", "Can not Let Go", "Butterfly", "Forever" and so, quite nice, but definitely not a requirement. Mostly the songs sound very alike, bored even for minutes. You are more filler than really big hits for me. Even if they are to settle almost exclusively in medium to good range, the measure, which "# 1's" presented, FULLY !!!! ranges
Mariah fans have always every song and also bought these here blind! For people who want to but have only the best and only one CD of her, I advise clearly "# 1's", because they allow companies really have a choice Hammer, reduced to a CD and reduced to the songs of Ms. Carey par excellence!
Nevertheless, also, I would like it to make clear "Greatest Hits" a great, successful CD by a great artist with one of the voices of all time!
