Memory Stones (Paperback)

Customer Review

Nell is an Irish oenologist fifty years. She lives in Paris, happy, between her job and her lover Henry. One day she learns that her daughter Ali has problems. Nell therefore share for Ireland, where she returned for the first time in over thirty years and where his old ghosts await ...

A beautiful book! At first I found it a bit abrupt style of the author and that tone gives way to softness and delicacy. I found very fair history of these mothers who are struggling to love, to show the extent of their love. I also liked all aspects of the novel that evoke the past Nell, difficulties to accept and overcome his past mistakes. It is also a beautiful portrait of Ireland and its many landscapes.

"It reached you in waves, lack of someone. As a background noise that silently crackles well filled days when we did not have time to think, a sharp point when we forget for a moment and something comes revive the memory. "
