First of all: I am not a Green Day fan, although I also have the "Dookie Album" and also with punk rock I've never seriously auseinadergesetzt because I rather earthy rock from the 60's / 70's after I am. but seen "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" at MTV, repeatedly heard on the radio and then also read the many euphoric reviews of the new album "American Idiot" was clear to me: "The album is needed!" I have it then more or less bought on spec and found no high expectations, but I was more than surprised. The album is consistently good, has the title track, which just now angesprochenem "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday" but also the calmer "Wake Me Up When September Ends" real catchy tunes. Even the "Jesus of Suburbia" and " Homecoming "in five chapters, were of differing content, subdivided, speaks for the quality of the album. Not only musically, the plate moves at a high level, but also seen lyrically it's very deep. As the title suggests, is in most songs to the American society, the unnecessary wars and to George W. Bush's policies. It is really worth the texts contained in the beautifully designed booklet to read along while listening. On the other hand, the music is also good for blowing off steam and with every song you start to inevitably to foot tapping or playing air guitar. In addition, it does at a time of "would-Stars" like Sarah Connor or Anastacia just fine, again to hear honest, authentic music and when frontman Billie Joe Armstrong the same song "I walk this empty street On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams" sings, you believe him at his word. Thank you for this album Green Day !!!
