The Duracell myGrid is a loading system, which consists of two components. On the one hand there are the pallet. This is 216mm long, 172mm wide and 19mm hoch.Sie is plugged into an outlet. Then you can on the load plate max. 4 devices for charging place. The restriction to 4 devices is given by the maximum power of the plate, but the size of the board is not really suitable for 4 units (unless you can well puzzles). From my addiction maximum of 2 full-size units fit on it because at the same time.
Well, I had assumed in my technically limited lay thinking, the charging process would now be done simply by a tension on the pallet, but how it works then (unfortunately) not. One need that is still an accessory, called Duracell Power Clip.
This clip is nothing but a mini-plug for the respective charging socket, which is connected to a flat circular metal box. Now you have to put the device to the metal box on the pallet. Then the power and the unit charges to flow.
(For Power Clip I've written a separate review, so I'll keep this short here)
Wherein said loudly announced by the company. Duracell Technical progress is here, I really wonder. That you can transmit power via the contact between between conductive metal surfaces is now really no sensational discovery.
Bring the Duracell myGrid now any other benefits ??
Yes, lt. Duracell One need no more cable. But one has now a shapely metal plate permanently blocked the outlet and constantly consumes electricity.
And as the charging cable for mobile phones or MP3 players are almost always used as a data transfer cable, I'd better not throw it away because you need them to continue.
However one has now the power clip to his mobile phone or player. As nice as the part is now not really, but unfortunately, it interferes not only for optical reasons. Firstly, the device no longer fits now the so precisely developed by the manufacturer protective case. Then you want yes occasionally invite new music, pictures, etc. on the device. Then you have to remove the Power Clip (which is not easy), looking for the old cable, transfer data, and then laboriously assemble the power clip. That's all very complicated and no real relief.
Of course you can only connect the power clip to charge the device. But then I put the really essential question: Because it does not really matter if I have to search for clip the charging cable or the power.
Conclusion: 1 Star that the technique works. (However, you can actually be so mobile device charging) Otherwise has vastly verhoppelt here the Duracell Bunny. The myGrid is a piece of art, which the user makes life more difficult than easier.
