"The gardener maraicher" is a practical and informative book for anyone planning to settle as family maraicher. It had been over a year since I was looking for a book demonstrating a pragmatic way that we can live well by cultivating a garden on a human scale (less than one hectare). Most books (in French) are published to a current practice of amateur gardening and remain quite vague. This is a guide made by a professional with professional advice. Everything is very accessible.

The condition of success is to be organized and humbled by the task at hand. Limit investments to simple but effective tools is a very important point, though against the tide of conventional discourse. If long-term debt is nonsense that largely explains the difficulty of farmers living in the context of present dumping.

This book also confirms that a small farm may very well with a low mechanization (tiller).

Although it is very well done book can obviously cover all areas of the profession of maraicher but it gives very good basis to prepare for future conversion. The author simply discusses the major themes in the art: irrigation, the organization of the farm, crops, rotations plans etc. An annotated bibliography (promising) Complete the work to deepen the topics.
