"The Seraphic Clockwork" includes all facets of VANDEN PLAS and thus should not disappoint any fan. Monumental hymns with a lot, but not too much progressivity, beautiful melodies, a lot of feeling and also the required hardness are fused on the album. In addition, singer Andy Kuntz is a master of his craft, and often produces goose bumps. Every now and come back by this combination and a certain theatricality that comes thanks to the concept of comparing parallels with Queensryche to light, but otherwise it would be hard Vanden Plas somehow.
Although the German formation that exists since 1986 can be classified as progressive metal band, they make it a not too hard to find in the songs and even the occasional catchy chorus in Petto. Nevertheless, the songs are an average of 7 minutes and there is a lot to discover on the journey through time that goes through the main protagonist. Leisure facilities include a guest singer, interspersed orchestral parts and a fine ballad. Picking out individual songs would be very difficult, because the album has to be definitely considered as a whole and everything is presented on the same high level.
Therefore, and for many other reasons, so I advise everyone Melodic Progressive Metal fan to the album several times to heart to go in this beautiful journey and to convince themselves of this powerful band from Germany. It is worth it.
