Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus (Audio CD)

Customer Review

I was not really surprised, because such a development had already the charismatic rather soporific precursor "Nocturama" predicted - therefore it was not a real shock to hear that suddenly so suitable media and style remixed "AB / TLOO".
Yes, I like the panels both like, on "Abattoir Blues" can be heard in songs like "Get Ready For Love", "Hiding All Away" or "There she goes, my beautiful world" really good rock on which it nothing to complain about are. "The Lyre of Orpheus" has beautiful to offer, such as "Easy Money", the makings of a true classic has, or the ingenious gospel hymn "O Children" - the album to criticize thoroughly would be really wrong.
Only one has - particularly as die-Cave-listener - the feeling that the Bad Seeds were pushed through a press, which has ensured that the formerly rebellious band was finally made compatible media and for-each-audible. A pity, especially as Blixa Bargeld also leaving the quality of the troops has never harmed, and Nick Bass howling winds still through all ears.
The board is very pleasant to listen for anyone determined and also has the ability dahinzuplätschern in the background - but probably is exactly their fault, because I - despite some great songs! - Can not be a full number of stars.
But everyone needs to evolve, and that's why I want to "Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus" really not back in a bad light.
One last:
Value for someone who once again want to buy something nice to considering.
For someone who wants to buy what times of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, I recommend the older stuff (eg Let Love In, Murder Ballads, Henry's Dream ...) because they correspond more to his style.
