Hoping to learn something new, I bought this book it based on reader comments, but I am disappointed, it's a book that does not stand out from those in the same field. As for the style, I prefer the irreplaceable "techniques like" Jean Kokelberg and drama of the novel, read the Poetics, Aristotle or a book on the art of writing in film scenarios. The Stephen King book on writing is also interesting. If I found it curious that the author confuses the present participle and the gerund, I find it strange that only refers to classical authors said, or that are described as large, regardless author such as Françoise Sagan, Celine, Yourcenar. And then advise the use of a spell checker to find out how your text truffent participles, is it not better to read the sentence aloud and listen to the rhythm and euphony? I expected better, something higher, more ethereal. Definitely, I will stay loyal to Jean Kokelberg! A book to avoid if you have already purchased similar.
