True writing is special. It is also true the narrative ... is somewhat confusing. But Hold on! You get used to and definitely worth the effort! A police without police, a book about the devil and Dumas manuscript surrounded by mysteries, an anti-hero as we like, disturbing enemies, hunt for "treasure" by Toledo, Sintra and Paris, and a riddle to which the author does not leave you a spectator but to which he lets you participate ... A gem of the genre! And that's not to mention numerous references of our classic police (Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Edgar Poe, ...) As many biographical anecdotes about Alexandre Dumas.
This is my first Arturo Pérez-Reverte but it will not be the last ... To me "Table of Flemish Master" ...
