Part 1:
They were looking for a replacement for a notebook in the tooth, which had indeed done pretty well his service as a desktop replacement, but now slowly in front of the ever-increasing data streams began to capitulate (especially Youtube music videos with increasingly better image quality).
It should be something reasonably solid, which can cope with such material without any lag, otherwise standard tasks were asked: word processing, image archiving and possibly little processing, spreadsheets, Internet use the classic way - e-mail, search operations, travel arrangements, shopping, forums participation, home banking..
A processor of the Core i3 class seemed sufficiently, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive also. However, the screen should be at least a 17 inch monitor, better even more. Furthermore, I was a little "cable spoiled" by the notebook pronounced against the usual mess, to a classic desktop PC is now launching time with it, but I looked on with some reluctance. And a maximum of 500.00 EUR - all I wanted to spend just. In the course of searching for matching 17-inch notebook I came across the concept of AIO PCs. All-in-One - yes, why not?
Further study of this concept made me then quickly realized that it is perfect for my needs. Best of all for relatively little money, there are really big screens. And further research revealed that Lenovo currently offers the probably most sophisticated and most affordable equipment pool in this class. The device for my requirements was quickly found: Lenovo C470 at Amazon, 499.00 Teuronen and, WOW, the time of my purchase also advertised with the bonus of a DVB-T TV Emfängers! The course soon proved to be a trigger for some trouble, but I would like to present only at the end, because it does not affect the device and its functions.
And they are, apart from little things, Top. In tabular list the positive and negative sides of the unit:
A + in my estimation brilliant, strong color, high-contrast LED screen 54,61 cm (21.5 inches) with full HD (!) Resolution and, as I see it so far, without a single, identifiable pixel errors.
+ A delicate-looking, but bomb solid base for the monitor, which allows enough space around the keyboard and it accommodate, when it is not needed, without which they abut against the lower edge of the screen, freeing up space on the narrow table creating.
+ A petite acting keyboard that nevertheless offers a complete, separate numeric keypad.
+ Three extra keys on the keyboard, with which the volume can be up and down regulated or the speakers completely on or can be switched off - very useful when you're eternal fiddle with the mouse on the screen for this purpose sorry.
+ Also very pleasant: the image brightness by two buttons on the bottom right are increased and decreased on the monitor, as well - again - the volume.
+ Despite a rather "small" processor, the operating speed for all jobs listed above is afloat and COMPLETE adequately - more is definitely for everyday use at home mE not needed (oh yeah - to games, I can not say anything, they have me during about 30 years of that I have been working with PCs, never really interested).
+ Especially pleasant - virtually no noise from the PC! Who's that to housing with the ear, possibly what can be heard - 20 cm away I hear nothing more. Okay: if the DVD / CD drive starts running, it makes noise always, but not so that you would have to go up the wall.
+ Absolutely easy and foolproof, open the rear panel, to get at the hard drive and the RAM - easy expansion possible if a 4 GB should not be enough or the 500 GB disk space becomes too small.
+ Although largely out of plastic, makes the case a very sophisticated look - to stand what is necessary has already been said.
+ Separate microphone and headphone jacks - would now be in the low-cost segment and no longer self-evident.
Negatives:
- Keyboard could tolerate clearer pressure point - but that's always very subjective. Others may just want to have as it is now.
- Some keys are arranged unhappy: right next to the ENTER key, a not much smaller delete key - there's fix times popular anger at the goof, especially for 10-finger typists. In addition, but probably typical Lenovo, the Fn key is left outside and next to the Ctrl key on the right :-(
- 1 x USB 3.0 and 3x USB 2.0 is still a little scarce - but will cost an active USB 3.0 HUB is no longer the world (ATTENTION: the pictures on the website lead here clearly astray, because they show a total of 6 USB ports! ).
- The built-Geräuschproduzierer (Speaker I like something not mentioned) are Ghastly - but they probably share the same fate with all brothers and sisters in modern flat screens. That's why working with me already for a long time a solid 2.1 LS set.

Part 2:
As already indicated above, there was a little trouble. The supplied PC was sent afloat unpacked and the pleasure to receive it as soon (Amazon typically within three days), he was also assembled immediately - extremely quick and easy - and filled with all the programs and data.
And then I was looking for the promised DVB-T receiver. I'm not particularly keen on television, but: pacta sunt servanda and it was now time offer included, but not in the package.
So called from Amazon and get the advice, but sometimes check with Lenovo, if the part is somehow incorporated, he, the telephone counselors, can not tell you how it was in this specific product the best of intentions. So phoned Lenovo (chargeable, 01805er number, grumble). No, because there is no DVB-T receiver is installed, the case would probably put Amazon. Again called Amazon, new man (in) on the phone. Well, when the situation would remain nothing more than to return the device, they would send a new. I: "Would not it make more sense, but just to forward the DVB-T device?" No, it would not do. Well, because the employee had caused the resending of the second device directly, the e-mail promised me (on Friday the 10th!) A sending for Monday the 13th, I was waiting once from. I again (again someone else) very politely asked on the phone and now responsive young woman, but once open the offer for this device on your screen and behind "Special" read me the line aloud. She thought only that I wanted to make fun of them, but an emphatic, but nevertheless friendly "Please, please" led them. And now I could make it clear that this, at the end promised DVB-T is set neither in the first nor the second consignment had been present and not in any form of Lenovo factory in it.
Then me a substantial discount of 10% was offered, because I was otherwise the device for a good cook wanted to keep. This in turn struck me as very fair, have accepted the offer and then ultimately has turned everything to good.
Btw .: this employee should Amazon keep warm: it has mE super to the customer (me) and obviously reacts ruckzuck ensured that this false quote blocked in the catalog and was corrected within a few hours of such a heap of trouble and Amazon may eventually bad press sparing.
