Specifications for me was simple: A very compact body, a full HD video mode and picture quality that is significantly greater than a smartphone as my Galaxy S4 which I always carry with me and therefore I use to do most of my photos.
Therefore out of the question to take over a bridge, much less a reflex much too bulky so that you rarely have them with you and we miss so many photo opportunities.
I finally decided for the Canon SX700HS
After receiving and a few tests, I hesitated to send it to end up deciding to keep it.
So let's see.
The build quality is undeniable and allows minimal clutter that I carried everywhere with me, it fits in a pocket, the first good point.
The interface is pleasant, the WiFi function allows you to control the camera from a smartphone via the Canon application, handy for taking photos in pairs or groups. Second good point.
Now look at the core business of a camera, so the picture.
During my first test in fully automatic, big disappointment on the image quality, grain, a little sand image exposure which sometimes burns the scene. That's when I hesitated to let me pay because I thought my Samsung Galaxy S4, so a smartphone, was almost better for pictures.
And then I looked a little more, without falling on the manual with speed priority mode, the opening or in any manual, old as with my old Nikon SLR film to film.
And then, surprise, it's a different song if you do not leave the machine's processor to handle everything, then you can get great pictures, it is strongly advised, for example, do not leave the camera amend ISO, because it tends to go up too and the image takes the grain.
For my part, I maintain ISO 200, and I leave the exhibition "evaluative"
I mainly use the manual mode with aperture priority, which helps keep hold of the essential, that is to say the opening. The speed is in this case automatically depending on the lighting of the scene.
This time the pictures are worth and there 's more picture, so to speak, with my S4!
The video is of high quality for a camera of this price, up to 60 im / s in 1920 with a take of his very correct.
The zoom is of course very impressive, but I use it mainly for portraits, because the subject is more natural if you do not do the picture under his nose, I did not need a 30x zoom but I m 'in content, it is sometimes fun.
My regret is the lack of viewfinder, it is often difficult to see the screen in bright lighting.
Moreover, I remain unconvinced by the pictures in low light without the flash, except to put the camera on a tripod and not let up the ISO to the maximum and in this case we may from time to time, get shots acceptable.
Second source of annoyance is the Canon software for Windows which does not easily transfer photos wirelessly, fortunately the application on Android it works well.
Basically, a great device if you mainly use the manual mode and automatic rarely.
In any case, the price quality ratio is very favorable.
Finally, I keep it in my pocket!
