At the functional level, I appreciate the independent base. Although this is a standard nowadays. Ditto for the thermal security. The unit will stop when the water comes to a boil which prevents him to continue heating for nothing. It's convenient, but it is not an innovative feature. I love super useful feature that keeps the water temperature. ... But still nothing new under the sun. They have not done much heat their neurons.
Innovative side, we can choose the water temperature, which leaves me a little puzzled (especially since you have the choice between 4 temperatures). I do not necessarily see the value (unless a specialist tea, in which case you would not choose this teapot for the reasons given below).
From a practical standpoint, the glass wall is a real plus. One can see the water level, the stage of heating and, optionally, changing the infusion. ... But that same wall offers no protection against the heat. So she quickly becomes hot and ... more becomes less from the first burn.
Tea lid only useful for those who use loose tea or doing their own infusions (eg for mint tea). For others, it adds nothing. So yes, there is a rod that serves as an indicator. But I would have preferred an alert and able to choose myself when I want to be notified that the infusion is ready (according to my personal taste). Furthermore, the lid is not designed to ensure optimum distribution. Anyway, darling (largest consumer of tea) has not passed.
To conclude, this is a great kettle that heats water quickly and maintain the right temperature ... but that's all. The rest is not really my cup of tea ....
