Customer Review

Victoria Hislop was expected in this second novel and it confirms all his talent. She gives us a very interesting novel about the history of the city of Thessaloniki with characters that allow us to stick to the best in history. This cosmopolitan city is partially destroyed by a huge fire, sees the movement of the Muslim community and the arrival of many immigrants from Smyrna whose Katharina our heroine is part .And this is his life that unfolds to our delight Car there is a beautiful portrait gallery that lives Irini Street, the Moreno family, Jewish family, who did not escape unscathed from the German occupation. The author uses the principle of the island of forgetting to make us better know the history of Greece. It's really interesting and it's successful, but this is a notch below the island of forgetting.
