I bought this switch because my old 8-port switch in some ports stopped working and always had to be already supported by another 4-port switch.
Had indeed wondered about the fact that the new switch is equipped with an IEC connector, but the power consumption is really not very high :-)
But what blew me away was definitely were the data transfer speeds between computers. The old switch I did not make it past 7 MB / s, even though the connected computers were not slowed down by other activities. After I connected the DES-1016D and made a test of the transmission speed I'm really tipped out of the pines. From a theoretical maximum of 12.5 MB / s, which is a 100 Mbit network brings, I reach to the switch dreamlike 11.3 MB / s. And it does not matter how many computers I will transmit data simultaneously ... everyone has the full speed available.
For the money I can really put the switch each to the heart of do not want to upgrade to Gigabit networks or needs. The switch is worth more than the money it costs.
