I am a bulimic and eclectic reader. The bed-bit is the kind that I like the most in the literature called "sentimental" (what a quaint adjective ...), but I must eat everything and anything as long as it is bed
With these comparisons (of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, psy-changeling, the shadows of the night, alien hunters, guardians of eternity ... etc for my favorite bed-bit), I find this book very well written and well translated. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar: for those who like me, are reluctant to read in VO for not mastering English with sufficient ease in order to take the same pleasure is essential! It is the number of stories that are paying the price of a translation of very poor quality. Here, I assure you that this is not the case.
The style is fluid, removed, and sarcastic wish. The description of the psychology of the leading characters but also in supporting roles, as well as the postulates of the imagined universe, make this first volume a piece of choice, even though it compiles the Centre literary codes of the genre (irreproachable figure characters, appearance personalities difficult but deeply engaging, hyper-masculinity of the hero and his attributes, etc ...). The Dominant-dominated side, I feel much less present in other series of its kind, may put some blue flower souls, and again, the feelings of the characters guarantee the harmlessness.
In short, it ranks high on the shelf of bit-lit books that I keep and I reread each time with the same pleasure. You decide!
