Last edition (1991) of a work exhausted long ago. We must therefore reserve the consultation of the discography that now look like "classic" interpretation. If you are interested in the opera, orchestral music or piano, the book will help a lot to guide your shopping in the reissues. Of course, you will sometimes disagree with the view of a particular editor manual or exasperated; but it is the law of the genre, and the critical content is roughly reliable, true connoisseurs have collaborated in this dictionary. Another interest of this book is to give you a solid basis for choosing the works of your club. Valuable utility, the record date is often given. One regret: contrary to what promises the foreword, there is no index. It should however be aware that this dictionary is not only obsolete in interpretation in general, but also completely exceeded phonebook swathes. This is particularly true of the song, chamber music, especially baroque music. And monuments of the disk as the Mahler symphonies by Abbado and Boulez (simple examples) are absent by definition. No matter. Great services he rendered, great services he still will for a while.
