Warning, this is in no way a digital camera but a MICROSCOPE! Funny product, so that this digital pocket microscope! The format of a digital camera but totally unusable as such, its only function is to watch (and photograph or film) of subjects magnified 10 to 500 X. It has nothing to do with a conventional microscope with his foot his adjustable eyepiece and small glass plates to observe hair and other flies wings. We set the device on a surface, lens toward it, adjusting the focus with a small wheel and the intensity of the LEDs and the display shows everything a strange world! It's really a true childlike curiosity than observing everything around us: my skin is a real landscape reliefs and trunks ... it gives me getting old! The head of the fly is monstrously frightening, the tiny snail on the aquarium glass across the screen at full speed in the shimmering reflections of his gigantic shell ... everything is subject to marvel. The image quality as long as you do not move a muscle and photos taken (and saved on SD card) are then surprising finesse. However, it must know the limits of this little tool: - No stabilizer where unavoidable fuzzy dice that the magnification increases if one is not super stable. In this release button is as hard as misplaced (why on the side and not on top?), Ergonomics mistake! - No need to try to exploit the maximum magnification, despite the 5 megapixel, it rasterizes death - The movie delivers images in VGA quality poor quality function (but anyway, this remains very difficult to shoot a moving subject sharply grown, my little snail's too fast!) - The ergonomics of the keys is not very intuitive and takes some time to adapt more so that the record is fairly succinct - Some accessories would have been nice (a small transparent box suitable for observing insect captured for example ...) - The "MediaImpression" software provides, to edit, organize and print their pictures has no interest
Despite all these shortcomings, I'm having good with this stuff ... no doubt that the children will find a great play value as educationally ("look at your nail grows 17 X! And now, go wash your hands !! !), especially since the whole is robust. An original Christmas gift!
