Now to my first impressions: The D600 fits comfortably in your hand, but who has the D200 or D300 is used to the feeling was that more installed plastic (the D200 was better in the hand). For this, the camera is now less difficult - together with the lens 1357gr, noisy kitchen scale. Some buttons are in my eyes in strange positions, especially the imaginary center button to lock in the selection of the tape critical functions (Auto, M, A, S, etc.).
The first test images show very good results in terms of depth of field,
Dynamics and at high ISO values. In fact, I have never used a camera in which the ISO setting does not matter, even up to 3200, I see no noise. The D600 also has an Auto ISO function that I have to try out in practice yet, the first impression is positive here.
The autofocus is fast enough in my eyes, at least for static shots in AF singlemode I am convinced that we have no problems. The Shutter is also super fast, and I could find no delays. A highlight in my eyes is the very sharp LCD screen, with good brightness.
Now the crucial point for me, the use of DX lenses with the D600. The DX lenses lead to a 1.5 factor, ie my 18-200mm Nikkor is very impressive. Even at very distant shots I can with the Zoom on the screen details see (for example, the numbers on cars). However, my first tests also show that the supplied kit lense of 24-85mm delivers sharper, brilliant color images. For this reason, I suppose, that my DX lenses slowly gathering dust in closet, and the FX lens is often used.
Overall: A very strong camera ready!
