I knew by Pierre Lemaitre before reading this book but I admit that this book makes me want to know more about his work. The beginning is very commonplace, kidnapping in the streets of Paris, a young girl named Alex maintained by her captor in an abandoned warehouse. I had rather the feeling of finding myself in front of a book beginning that I had read dozens of times. Certainly, Camille police in charge of the investigation is not for once a cynical cop, but divorced alcoholic and a policeman handicapped by its small size but hey no big deal. But after some 50 pages, the plot is much more complex and subtle and the author takes us on a real against the clock with a final which I will reveal absolutely nothing quite unexpected. The chapters of the book are short and the construction work is interesting because a chapter is devoted to Camille's view of the case while the following presents the vision of Alex which gives an increase in the following book two different perspectives. In conclusion, a very nice surprise and a book that devours.
