A great friend of the cheap Gießkugeln glass I'm not. Too often gave many models their content within a day off and broke into something harder roots or soil from simple. Thus came to me only a sound solution in question, the slow and steady and regular water or rather the moisture to the plant emits. Unfortunately, many see the sound solutions like toys and seem rather ridiculous to me.
Here I must really praise Bio Green. The Gießkugel heavy glass has an extremely robust and high quality. Me she remembers something a perfume bottle. This ball is filled from the bottom with water and then placed in the provided sound tubes. There are, however, a problem. If you have a sensitive floor (parquet or similar) you have to, unless you want to pull it out each time the sound element, the "tipping" the ball into the cone already quite fast approach to avoid a mess. With practice, this works quite well, but might not be for everyone / woman thing.
The glass sphere is relatively large, I have not measured it, but I believe that the content of a Coke can easily fit into the ball. This is slightly larger than a fist. Again, I have to say a little more choice would have been nice. For me, this already rather belongs in the direction XL. Especially in smaller pots with 30cm diameter and less the ball could already often be too large. Desirable would be a slightly smaller size.
The function is given to me in any case. Filled to the brim goes with me this Gießkugel for about a week before this and the corresponding sound-wedge are completely drained. Usually I wait then again 3-4 days before I pad again, because I have the impression that the ball gives already too much rather than too little water. But this is certainly a matter of taste and varies from plant to plant.
Conclusion:
A very pretty ball which makes good instead of really spoil at every pot Planze. Function is given, amount of water is also sufficient for getaways.
Pro:
+ Physical
+ Workmanship
+ Solid packaging
+ Amount of water that is in the ball
+ Smooth and quite appropriate irrigation amount
Cons:
- For size M, in my opinion too big. Ball might be slightly smaller or should emerge as S variant
- Filling is a bit cumbersome, removable / screw-ball head might have been nice
- Price is in my opinion a bit overstated
