Grisham certainly not the best, but a new well made that takes us in the sensitive atmosphere of the southern US states, revives nightmares of racist lynchings yesterday through a trial today. The gallery of portraits of lawyers s''agrandit around Jake Brigance, hero of the first story published by J. Grisham (A time to kill), engaging characters who share with us the size and the compromises of their profession. Too bad the "twists", necessary to maintain the suspense, seem too implausible and therefore involve less imagination and drive participation in the evolution of ongoing trials. But the smooth and efficient writing keeps us in suspense from the first to the last page.
