A wonderful home

Hot Fuss was (and is) good, no question. Young, electrifying, frantic and always exciting. For this, a "stylish" band with a chic singer who knows how to underline his good looks neat with much eyeliner. What more do you want? On this basis could actually only disappoint a second album. Or?

First, the surprise was great when the four were released from Las Vegas to two years back on the scene and hardly recognizable: hair shaggy, unshaven faces and some with mustaches and sideburns. These Western outfits that would each Sergio Leone film proved the honor. What the hell was that ?!

But as the first single, "When You Were Young" musically joined past successes, the gentle listener had the album somehow give a chance.

Already with the opener and title track breaks the plate then with all his might on the listener and pulls it inevitably: "I've got this energy beneath my feet / Like something underground's gonna come up and carry me ..." Yes, shows. Where do we go? Sure, Of Course; in the middle of the wonderful place Sam's Town: "We hope you enjoy your stay ..." Ok, so then walked briskly into it.

What to expect there, is great cinema for the ears; wild guitars, strings and bombastic dramatic synthesizer. These fantastic melodies, imaginative arrangements and Brandon Flowers inimitable voice that draws the listener immediately into its spell. So but everything the same at the Killers?

No! They are even better! All grades of the debut are also on Sam's Town. But in contrast to the first fruits which sounded intriguing cool, but by something distant, everything is warm and accessible. Campy or superficially the album is not yet. On The Contrary; Sam's Town looks grounded and mature and, one might forgive such clichés, grow up. The boys have arrived and have stripped their glam masquerade. Your music will sound honest without losing any of their depth and drama. They called the phone welcome in their world, surrounds him and gives him a home: "But I Know That I can make it / As long as somebody takes me home ..." Yes, exactly!

And there is plenty to see in this world, because each song has the potential to be a hit! At the same sounds Sam's Town absolutely homogeneous and harmonious and leaves no room for boredom anyway. A perfect masterpiece!

And if the killer then send a less than 45 minutes to go home, you know that you very, very quickly comes back. "We hope you enjoyed your stay ..." Oh yes, we have! "Outside the sun is shining / It seems like heaven is not far away ..."

Oh, if only everything was like this album just so beautiful!
