DragonAge Inquisition is a slightly different way.
Something more action (real-time battles) you need not necessarily the view of tactics. AI companion act independently and mostly clever. Only in very tough opponents / bosses, you have to intervene to provide support.
Who does not like, but rather stands on micromanagement in the fight, can turn off the specifications of the AI. With an increased Maximum Difficulty it is then called real.
The characters are still interesting, though at first not quite have the depth of DAO, but later but you can adequately deal with you / identify and turned many quests free.
For scores the game with a magnificent staging / Storytelling and a fantastic, huge world.
The extent it kills a formal, but also many average Grind / fetch-quests are that you so rather knows from MMOs.
This one must not necessarily do the main missions and side quests with story-there are plenty of nice stories.
Technology:
Visually, the game is a blast. The Frostbite engine conjures up an a world on the screen, as nice as anyone yet RPG before. Breathtaking scenes.
My system (I4770k, 8GBRam, GTX780) creates on ultra-so the 45-60 fps in outside areas, indoors much more.
I play it with Xbox controller on your PC. Is not forbidden and I can only recommend, control is so loose of his hand.
Dogged PCler like because now cry out again, but let's face it, since it's beside the point.
I am met only 1 bug, but can be circumvented:
Sometimes cutscenes go no further because there is no dialogue options appear.
This is then to still undistributed skill points. Distributed to the always busy, remain the cutscenes do not hang.
Conclusion:
If you like great staging, stunning graphics, beautiful stories, motivating main story and authentic characters, will entertain here top.
Who / hardcore RPGs is rather classic Zahlendreherei (like Baldur's Gate or DAO) and prefer brooding for several minutes on each skill point, will probably be disappointed.
Bioware has changed, I loved BD and DAO, but the new Bioware hats easy when it comes to world design / storytelling plan.
One more thing: the game takes many, many hours to get going. Then it no longer leaves a lot but.
So, now I have to dive into Thedas again :-)
