So after two weeks of intensive listening that really were needed in this album, it's about time to write a review. At first I thought only: ???????. Production of CD bothered me enormously at the beginning. I was not happy with the sound. Yes, I know all intention was but the snare (which is often dubbed Tin Drum) by Lars just annoying in the long run. And where are the hot fat guitars that I'm used to Metallica? I want to go back !!! Drums are easy to produce and generally the bass sound. This is of course all very subjective and some people may like to Metallica but were always guitars with powerful thick eggs! Second gripe in some places are the songs just too long, as Metallica would simply times must install solos to make the whole thing more varied or shorten the song, because in the long run disturb the constant Riffgeballer in some passages. Because Metallica were very selfish, that I can understand, if you're in a rock band, jamming makes it easy mood to constantly play the thicknesses riffs. Nevertheless, these two reasons are not decisive for the music that is on this LP. The managed. Metallica have always evolving and the longer the pause, the steps are the more they make. On this plate known cool riffs of Metallica brand are represented, the new melodic vocal lines and psycho roar and the male striking triple burned characteristic James Hetfield voice. No solos, but more bass and loud drums (also the China Basin often is used). New influences (the comparison with System Of A Down is true, where Metallica act not quite as schizophrenic) mingle with old and new Metallica trademarks. On this plate are a lot of good songs, a track would hevorzuheben pointless, but the single are St. Anger includes the typical elements of the album. Sometimes quiet, sometimes harder, but always horny! And there are always Metallica quality standard on each plate on most other CD gets the five star, albeit a masterpiece like Master Of Puppets is not reached (probably will not happen anyway). Nevertheless, a super album! Buy no harm.
