In the retail version of the package in addition to drivers and hardware are also in a SATA cable and a full version of the player software PowerDVD 9. The installation is very simple: SATA cable pure, pure power cable, screw, finished. The "piano finish" cries out the plastic that it is, in my opinion, not so much, as some reviewers feel it. In the front panel of my Xigmatek Asgard, it fits in any case a seamlessly.
A multi-drive has the advantage that (etc. burner) does not need any other drives. With 16X DVD writing speed and 48x for CDs, the CDs are indeed just below the common maximum of 52x, but this is not really significant. The read speeds are, subjectively perceived, top. So far I had no problems with CD, DVD or BluRay - I hope it remains. As far as the operating noise: There are even louder ... my fan during burning can be heard, certainly, but look at the films I see nothing.
If summarize met expectations, price-performance absolutely great.
