I need my vote from April 26, 2011 to correct (then only 1 star).
After my Devolo has kindly provided a new adapter couples available to incoming Performance here to carry out tests, came as the cause for the poor performance of the past something else to wear. The fault was in the details.
Previous 200 Series results
591 MB file storage -> 2nd floor 4.5 MB / s to 4.8 MB / s for about 2 minutes transfer time.
591 MB file 2nd floor -.> Basement 4.9 MB / s to 5.3 MB / s for about 2 minutes transfer time
500 series
Scenario I
Put 200 AVplus in the living room and in operation (Internet Radio)
500 AVplus in the basement (Windows Server 2003)
500 AVplus the 2nd floor (router)
Specifications according dLAN Cockpit
2nd floor devolo transmission Status = 195 Mbit / s
Keller devolo transmission Status = 215 Mbit / s
Test copying
591 MB file storage -> 2nd floor 8.0 MB / s to 8.8 MB / s 1.16 Min transfer time.
591 MB file 2nd floor -.> Basement 9.0 MB / s to 9.5 MB / s 1.08 Min transfer time
Scenario II
200 AVplus in the living room is no longer in operation
500 AVplus in the basement (Windows Server 2003)
500 AVplus the 2nd floor (router)
591 MB file storage -.> 2. OG 9.5 MB / s to 10.0 MB / s 1.04 Min transfer time
591 MB file 2nd floor -.> Keller 10.0 MB / s to 10.5 MB / s 1.01 Min transfer time
The results are therefore very satisfactory and at least twice as fast as with the 200 series.
Where was the gremlins?
Once in the basement, no performance gain was directly achieved in the tests, the Windows 2003 Server was put under the microscope.
Although the network adapter was set to "Auto Negotiation" worked (Speed / Duplex) and the recent network drivers cleanly and without problems, IP settings, and the network card drivers were to test the TCP / reinstalled. After the card has been on 100Mbit -> 1Gbit -> and reset to Auto Negotiation at the end and the transmission speeds respectively analyzed. Although the card has already been beginning to Auto Negotiation, this was but apparently other OS not configured correctly. A back and forth switches the speed has at least solved the problem for me. Or maybe it was a problem of not properly set duplex transmission.
So you should in any case make sure that all components (NAS, PC, Notebook, ...) also abkönnen 1Gbit and Speed & Duplex are set correctly.
Otherwise, such problems (poor throughput (he), crashes, ...) as described herein by other possibly occur.
To use the Firmware Beta came version 5.2.
The former 5.0.1 had significantly more problems with the continuous transfer speed.
Even trying different outlets should consider.
The adapter 500 on the 2nd floor now hangs on the opposite wall outlet (other wall), since at the date of the well of the 200 was not connected to the performance has been achieved than at its new spot. Here were about 3-4 MB / s difference recorded.
All in all I am very happy and want to thank the producers for the outstanding support quite sincerely!
