On page 1 of my unit accompanying manual (ie on the inside front cover) we find the remark "Caution! Only when the multi-mixer is assembled and the lid is rotated to the stop of the cap lug, the Multi-Mixer lets the food processor put and operate. " In other words, if one of the multimixer looked at from above, you can see the edge of the lid, a nose, so the edge a small lead. The cup part of the device has a handle. The nose has to go with a counterclockwise rotation at this pot handle, otherwise the seat can not be mounted. Simply attach only cover is not enough, the lid must be turned down until it clicks anticlockwise. Once mounted on the base unit, the lid of multimixer essay also can then no longer decrease. A filling is now only possible via the filler neck. Why on the cover is "Attention! Open lid after standstill of the knife" is beyond my knowledge. I am of the opinion that the lid is blocked as long as the article is on the base unit. To open the lid, the external equipment must be removed from the base unit - of course then stand still the knife.
I find this function of blocking in terms of security makes sense. The stand mixer attachment my MUM4 can in fact operate without attached lid, which is a real security flaw.
The unit comes with a multi-function knife, a turning-cutting disc for cutting fruit and vegetables, a reversible shredding disc with a coarse and a fine side for grating vegetables, fruit and cheese (except hard cheese such as Parmesan) and a friction plate - medium fine for grating raw potatoes, hard cheese and nuts supplied. I believe that thus the multimixer in his functions by the food processor (another accessory of the MUM series) overlaps slightly. The Multi Mixer is smaller than the food processor, the shredding discs are not so compatible.
The multi-mixer attachment works perfectly and customary in Bosch quality. With the multifunctional knife within a few minutes it was possible to have a package of dried fruit with several handful nuts, oats, sesame seeds, etc. to process to a coarse paste to make it energy balls. This essay was filled to about 2/3. The result was still very nice and even (unlike the processing of the mass in the blender. Here I have achieved meaningful results, but with more difficulty. The blender was always "empty" because the mass stuck to the cup wall. I had Repeatedly pushing down of the cup wall). I have the ingredients first filled in the mixer jug and the essay then mounted only on the base unit, so I was able to fill the open pot and did not have to deal with the filler neck. The filler neck is but handy to have something to refill during operation. Parmesan has can also be easily rub.
I can see the Bosch MUZ4MM3 multimixer highly recommended and consider him to be a sensible expansion of the base unit, even if you have the stand mixer attachment or the food processor already.
