The here sometimes so negative assessments mentioned I can not understand completely.
I have done an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro from Win7. For the 2013 version, I decided, since the 2012 version unfortunately does not run under Win8.
I have previously tested other programs like Nero BackItUp or Paragon. Paragon Suite 2012 A large through, inter alia, as no editing of jobs is possible and the SW responds very slowly (for partition management Paragon is however in my view 1st choice). Nero is ok, but the start and some copybooks take too long.
Important to me was the ability to back up Outlook. While this is also possible under Nero, but you have to click through to the PST file. This works with Acronis used automatically.
The installation of Acronis 2013 was quick and without error. All backup methods and options (disk, file, another ..) work quickly and accurately. Also worked fine system recovery (Recovery through F11), I tested several times during the installation Windows8.
At least under my PC configuration (processor 4 cores, 8 GB RAM) and Win8Pro all comes as from the 2012 version used on Win7 ... quickly and without errors. Maybe Acronis has dissolved in recent days some bugs. I have the build 5551 and in this version everything is running as it should. Therefore, I can, if you have opted in principle for Acronis, also recommend the 2013 version without restrictions. The price for the upgrade of under 30 is ok!
