Like many of the previous speakers have already said, the dock for some peripheral does not provide enough power indeed, but I do not yet noticed not really negative, only when I read that and then tested. An iPhone but loaded with no problems.
Connecting the devices is now always pleasantly fast, is recognized immediately and the Mac, not 5-15 seconds as someone previously reported (but this was probably, however under Windows).
Where we would be even with another small gripe. Drivers for Windows provides Belkin namely not to. You need this but to get the USB Hub and the audio jacks to run. Here you must research on the internet, until then finds out that the chipset probably from Fresco Logic is (simply search and download Support under the driver).
After installing the selfsame but everything is easily recognized.
My final conclusion:
The Dock facilitates a the "Anstöpselungsprozess" but considerably!
2 connector instead of 8 is ever horny and you then especially also the anyway meager ports on Macbook free!
Only the rather high price and the lack of TB cables are a bit stupid. In combination with the low charging current that is then a point deduction. But However, one must also expect what you can save on Apple adapters (Firewire and network adapter -> 60 euros), so the price is relativized something ...
It does everything it should and I'm happy!
