This investigation into the missing girl is intimately related to the writer's identity quest that mysteriously recognizes her. It emerges therefore a kind of surreal aura of this ambiguous narrative: Dora Bruder made me think of André Breton's Nadja; its dual quest structure and visionary power of the writer. This book is especially a beautiful tribute to this young and deported all the forgotten war. Modiano restores a breath of life to that person through this book that allows us not to forget. Certainly nobody remembered Dora Bruder before Modiano devotes her time so that she does not sink completely into oblivion. Just for that, thank you.
