- The firmware version 1.03 had unfortunately quite a few quirks that fairly pushed the fun
, o They repeatedly hung up when one shot of intense fast-moving images. Sometimes you even had to take out the battery to revive.
, o switching on and off was really annoying (to the lens 'parked' was passed before 7-10 seconds)
, o to navigate in the menu, developed an ordeal

The kit is a good alternative to start - then I would still be a 85er and the 70-200 recommend. Especially the resolution must fit, otherwise you have to complain only large files with poor resolution and will.

Negatives:
- The first negative is the card slot - I had at the A700 still a CF and MS, the A77 has unfortunately only a combination slot for SD and MS. I had wished that another MS / SD combo slot would be available in this price range where you can see the JPEG's and RAW's secure separately - which would bring performance. Especially when the camera already 12B / s can deliver and at 24MPixel. But we will probably no longer experience that Sony brings this feature. Since Nikon is better.
- The build quality is not bad in principle (magnesium and plastic), but just the handle it creaks a bit and when I have my plan 70-400 (1.5kg) and hold with one hand, I do not feel very safe. When the A700 was much better, which was built like a tank compared in the grip area. For the price Sony should make improvements here.
- The display has good at, is great rotation, but is easily smeared. Again Sony should apply a coating that improves the issue. It is fair to say that other manufacturers do not make it necessarily better.
- Although the video quality is really good, annoys you about the implementation of Verwackelungsschutzes in video mode. Here is (presumably for temperature reasons) just gecropped and the frame pixel used for swing compensation - which, however, the focal length changes (crop factor 1.8). The bezel is screwed up to F3.5, even if you plan 1,4er - incomprehensible.
- The JPEG engine is once again the problem child at Sony - again incomprehensible that Sony does not stem, good JPEGs rauszubringen - when RAW photographs and with Lightroom builds JPEG's, you're much better off => So my tip: always RAW photography, home can still sort out
- Unfortunately, you can once again the noise suppression in the JPEG's do not switch off completely. That was when the A700 in the first 3 firmware releases as well and due to the pressure of the community the option was in the then v4
introduced. We'll see if Sony will do that even with the A77. I hope at least.
- With 1:05 Firmware unfortunately the autofocus in ASM mode VIDEO got away - who wants to use the auto focus, must remain at P. No idea what the have thought since. However, you should use the "Focus Peaking" advanced camcorder anyway.
- The 16-50mm lens has at the edges at 2.8 light resolution weaknesses, stopping down to 4-5 but helps.

In conclusion, I would for the negative things actually deduct a star, but then you would have to punish other cameras even tougher. Because the fun outweighs the operation is exemplary, and the results are especially excellent with this "kit" lens, I just want to leave it at 5 stars. Sony has here a good product with defective firmware to initially placed on the market, but this adjusted in recent months. The features at this price are currently unique. I just wish that Sony a few small weaknesses in the future eliminated without equal to increase the price dramatically.
