I had my printer Brother HL5150D one floor below connected to the Fritz box 7490 where he worked without complaint. Now he was on the same floor, where there is also the workplace (laptop). Since I Wireless Laser printer was too expensive with duplex function, had to be another wireless solution. Most WLAN print server had my printer (already a few years old) not in their compatibility list. Therefore, the handle for Trendnet device (Amazon favorable than "Used - Like New" purchased). After the attempts to integrate the unit to the manufacturer's instructions were unsuccessful, I did it (was yes the printer driver already installed on your laptop) try following: Connect the print server to the mains supply, switch on. Start on the Fritz box the WPS, then the WPS button on the print server handle 6 seconds. The print server is recognized by the Fritz box. Only now connect the USB cable from the printer to the print server, turn on the printer, printing. All features of your printer are available already elderly, including duplex printing. Printer and print server are on the same switchable power strip. They both remain turned on only the current on the power strip is switched off when not in use. After switching can be losgedruckt then after a few seconds it takes for the print server in order to connect to the Fritz box immediately. Conclusion: good device that does what it should cost price. If the current printer times up his mind to buy a new device is more favorable, since it need not be a wireless printer.
