Customer Review

Immediately after Megaseller Ziggy Stardust published Bowie Aladdin Sane 1973 with another hit album and thus cemented his fixed place in the pop Olympus.

Well played the album also with the Spiders from Mars one, nevertheless the album sounds very different to Ziggy. This is primarily thanks to the virtuosity, oblique Kalvierspiel Mike Garsons, of a very peculiar atmosphere gave the numbers "Time", "Lady Grinning Soul" and "Aladdin Sane". These numbers are, without exception, "unusual" (in the best sense of the word), where they only removed sound like pop music. While listening to these numbers, I think more of a turgid, Parisian nightclub with red velvet, in which a transvestite show is running. The question here, of course, why you should listen to it ... hmmm no idea, anyway, behind the numbers a very dense, rather aufringliche atmosphere.

Degree line rock songs on the album are "Watch That Man" and "Jean Genie" - a song that describes the life of drug addicts slanted trash writers Jean Genet - a classic Bowie with a pretty good, albeit primitive video.

"Watch That Man" is pure RocknŽRoll and just makes good mood, even if the text is anything but family safe ... ;-)

I find it interesting the number "Drive In Saturday" - it sounds somehow as if you lost somewhere in the world of oblique FrankŽn Furter from the musical "Rocky Horror Picture Show". Quite peculiar.

"Prettiest Star" sounds pretty gay / bi - however, I think, a bit boring. As the number 1973 was released as a single, it flopped pretty.

"Panic in Detroit" is a cool rock number whose text I have never really understood and "Cracked Actor" describes the life of a washed-up actor, with a cutting guitar accompanies the entire number - fetzt pretty.

Generally one can "Aladin Sane" might see as an evolution of the fictional character "Ziggy Stardust" - a Ziggy, the dives but in a crazy immere expectant world and meets Randfiguten society.

But this musical development corresponded also Bowie's former life as a superstar. With the "Spiders from Mars" He should, incidentally, only one album namely "Pin Ups" - record. Then there followed the "post-Ziggy album" Diamond Dogs ", before he finally turned his back on the pure rock
