Lioness: Hidden Treasures (CD)

Customer Review

This posthumous album for a label that is customary yet because since the death of Bob Marley was a trap, but the result is satisfactory, though. The choice is wise, past misunderstandings of the first plays to fans of the late diva, especially in the second half of the album. Take the time to enjoy the titles, to understand how an artist to the atypical voices and making one of the tabloids in less than two albums became a worldwide star.

Special mention for "Like smoke" with NAS AND "Our day will come."

One may regret the choice of titles that were already on "Back to Black," but the original version of "Tears Dry" is very different from previous and even better. Paradoxically, it was the one she sang when she was drunk and stoned, even in St Lucia Jazz Festival. The very choice of soft label in terms of marketing policy is not the good, the best version of Billie Holiday "stuffed" in "Lady in satin" on "the end of the love affair" is exit only recently.
Some concerts versions it applies anyway to finish the piece in public boos have a musicality and an amazing orchestration. I remain baffled by that against "Cupid" by Sam Cooke interpreted when Eurockéennes of 29 June 2007 is not the same bonus in this compilation. Finally, the integration of "Valerie" fixes a bug of the other two albums.
