I am a big fan of thrillers and especially historical thrillers. The comment on "the Last Templar" had me hooked but rather ultimately ..... I'm very disappointed. The beginning of the story and the following 300 pages are really going at 100 miles an hour .... but the rest ???? It is my filling and "mushy". over a hundred pages on the storm, for example, it was useless. As for the "fall" !!!!! It is predictable and perfectly inept. The latest Tess lyrics are a perfect illustration. Mr. Khoury has wanted to make a Bi Da Vinci Code, it is his right. Mix the history of the Templars is a good idea because this is one of the most interesting myths of the Middle Ages, the episodes of the Templars, in my opinion, very interesting, but to succeed a real good novel, it should not rush the fall as in this novel. This novel is it also a critique of the Catholic religion as one might think ??? I rather think he is apologetic. To criticize the Catholic Church and hold the reader spellbound .... it must Umberto Eco talent in "The Name of the Rose" .......... this talent, Mr. Khoury will was not far from it. And to discover and dévorter excellent historical thrillers no historical claim and which take you in suspense until the end, I recommend a French author Serge Brussolo! Verily I am disappointed ..... this book.
