Design and manufacturing:
The headphones in black / red is chic, at operation of the MP3 player lights up (on request) the Sony logo. The other one that glow means of a dedicated knob and can I hold off for a bit exaggerated.
The processing of the headphone is good. The pad sit well and firmly on the ears, I can with my big turnip wearing the headphones without pain for a long time. The sound insulation through the headphones is good. So: Warning, if you so want to be out on the road.
Let's start with the most important characteristic of a headphone, the sound:
First, the sound without wires, so music via the internal MP3 player:
good bass, a little bit of ups and felt a little too much the middle. For pop music good for something 'more sophisticated' music such as classical something undifferentiated.
Amazingly, strengthen weaknesses, once the attached cable is connected and the sound source as an external MP3 player (iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPhone 5s, iPod Shuffle) is used. Here the sound is reproduced clearly undifferentiated as by a blanket: still good, heights clearly too low, the middle slightly vermatscht bass. Strange. In this price range is not good. The volume is set high enough. At an even higher volume yes there anyway health problems.
Besides there is the opportunity to use the internal speakers of the headphones. This can be done the headphones a) hanging around his neck, or b) lay down the headset somewhere. The speakers are located on the bracket.
With the headphones around your neck, I am doing something difficult, although the sound then somewhat powerless (because due to design with little bass) but very airy sound. I can then but hardly move and my wife claims that would look pretty stupid and out. Well, I'm just not 20 anymore ...
The music can only be heard through the speaker when the internal MP3 player is used. External sources can not be used for this purpose. The volume of the speakers is sufficient.
The internal MP3 player is filled via PC or Mac. With my Mac via drag & drop, so very easy. The player is immediately recognized as an external drive on a Mac. After the first filling of the player it took several minutes for the files were read. I first thought of a rich software error, with plenty of patience worked the part after all. The handling of the player directly via the earphone. This requires some practice. In addition, it is not possible to know where to find what song. So so, such as an iPod Shuffle. This raises the same to me whether I do not buy an external player for little money and some extra cash for a top headphones on had. This must of course decide for themselves, because here there's indeed the all-in solution.
It is possible to transfer folders that can be controlled then one by one. But by far not as comfortable as it is known from a classic mp3 player with display.
The included, detachable cables for connection to an MP3 player is quite thin and unfortunately does not have a remote control. Too bad.
My conclusion: Only a fairly good headphones. Additional cost for the internal player and the speakers appear justified. Personally, I would rather invest the money in the original function, the sound quality.
Good 3 star for the price.
