As a smoker I have a gas lighter and can not understand why I should instead go around with magnesium rods or focal glasses. Something would probably be more of a Boy Scout project.
As a scale I've used honey soaked Grillanzünderwürfel of pressed Raspelholz. They are not very difficult, but bulky. The Snuff box is for a real alternative, the scale really burns like tinder. And if the content is consumed, it still has the small aluminum can vulgo Tinderbox and a reason for their own experiments for the purpose of refilling.
