Customer Review

Already from the start kindle Udo Dirkschneider and his men a veritable storm of steel and the puzzled listener gets a real board nailed to his forehead!
Pounding rhythms, flitting guitars, wild bass attacks, driving drums, plus the distinctive siren-screaming voice of Udo Dirkschneider - just great! The songs feature thrilling, varied melodies and have this special character sing - which is HEAVY METAL!
Even on first hearing the songs find their way into your ears and burn indelibly into the cerebellum.
Who expects something new from "Decadent" 's got a bang where UDO draufsteht UDO is also in it - done!

Obviously, however, the line-up changes over the past years the band have done well. This rejuvenation has already started to affect the very strong "Steel Hammer" album but with "Decadent" put the guys still a proper shovel on it and also with over 62 years shows Udo D. still many a youngster where the metal hammer hangs. Ever seems Udo D. Even after more than 40 years in the business not to be tired and he sprayed noticeably with energy, power and desire to rock'n'roll. Serve As in the best of times UDO a blast after another - Teutonic Metal at its best.
With "Speeder", "Decadent" and "House of fake" bludgeon the guys at UDO right at the beginning right down to it going on and there are no longer any doubt where the journey with "Decadent" is. "Mystery" and "Pain" are two very strong midtempo numbers and especially "Pain" offers these nasty chorus of branding yourself immediately into your brain - you know exactly what I mean. Then it's quiet, "Secrets in Paradise" is a knotless Metal ballad the quiet and soulful starts and fervently increases towards the end. "Meaning of Life", "Breathless", "Let me out" and "Under Your Skin" are all right polynuclear metal numbers which make the heart of every priest's cassock higher. Already with the first notes of "Untouchable" I was reminded of Accept, this song could also come from one of the old Accept albums. This pounding rhythm and the choirs in the background - Wolf Hoffmann says hello! Ever many pieces remind me at times to the early days of Udo and D. Accept, seems like UDO are "back to the roots" gone with "Decadent" a bit - but that fits!
With "Rebels of the night" give the boys towards the end again on the gas, then finally there's "Words in flame" yet this rather quiet and stomping anthems.

My conclusion: UDO is with "Decadent" a very strong and varied album managed - this is Heavy Metal should listen!
Great melodies and choruses are hallmarks of this album and musically UDO have me completely convinced. For me "Decadent" the best UDO album has become a long, long time - I'm thrilled!
Personally, I'm looking forward immensely to the "Decadent Tour", I will definitely be there.
Two thumbs up!
