1997 Cornelia Funke wrote the young adult novel "Hands off Mississippi". Ten years later, Detlev Buck filmed this bestseller with a host of excellent actor. Among other things, Katharina Thalbach and Christoph Maria Herbst play with. Whose voices can now be heard on the "original radio play for the film" - whatever that means this title, because there is neither the same nor the soundtrack of the film, a radio play version. Rather a new version together cut out parts of the soundtrack and an explanatory comment Zoé Charlotte Mannhardt, the actress of little Emma.
In contrast to the also available, comprehensive three CDs Audiobook quickly notice that this is an abridged version of the book and dramatized. This does not detract from the effect but. With snappy music, almost without exception, wonderful voices, and an exciting, funny and wonderfully quirky plot, like this radio play right away. You just have to love this Emma and especially her grandmother.
Although occasionally comes to a bit of melancholy that one can not see the associated images - which one can but provide a remedy by going to the tarnished on 22 March 2007 feature film or waiting for the appearance of the DVD.
Apart from a few roles that act as read, the Voice selection is fantastic. Both Emma and the gorgeous "nasty" Christoph Maria Herbst and especially the wonderfully weird sounding Katharina Thalbach make the radio play an audio enjoyment. Effects, music and the uniquely beautiful layout of the CD to complete the picture of a near-perfect production.
Unfortunately, the CDs are divided only in very few tracks and noted the length of nowhere - for smaller audiences that often ten-minute sections are often too long and meaningful only in its entirety. Here is a neat list and frequent break would have done well - especially since the book would have it as well as the movie content allowed doubt.
Even better than this radio play is only the book - it is much longer and much more fun - and probably also the film - who does not want to see the nasty Alligator and the eccentric grandmother in stock, if you are listening to for so delicious?
