Processing:
The workmanship is very good and with the new fabric (compared to the Touch Cover) the keyboard is on the back no longer so frumpy. The high price, however, is in my opinion not justified because there is (even Microsoft) already compared very good Bluetooth keyboards for much less money, so you could actually do without the Type Cover.

Keyboard detection:
When I connected the Type Cover after purchase to the surface, first came the disillusionment. It worked only Tochpad and the mute button. Everything else did not work, not even the backlight.

I am then in the the System Settings (via the Desktop) and then went to the device manager, and have clicked the keyboard. Lo and behold, my Surface RT has only recognized the Touch Cover, but not the Type Cover.
So I went to the Microsoft website and went through all the steps in "problems with the Type Cover", and was surprised at how many others had this problem too.

The troubleshooting steps have all but brought nothing, because even after all updates have been installed correctly, the Type Cover was not working. I then made the final step nor a system restore (refresh) and lo and behold, the Type Cover worked thereafter followed properly.

This software problems I'm not used by Apple devices, and that reminded me just back to "earlier" Windows computer times.

Therefore, there is only 4 stars.
