I am referring here to the limited edition digipack which has achieved two bonus tracks in addition to the ten regular album tracks. The artwork is as always decorated and designed to match the music, that's when VADER decades standard.
First sounds an atmospheric to bombastic intro, that the voltage of the listener raises and coincides with gloomy orchestral sounds to the coming storm. Since I am a big fan of such intros me this circumstance has ever delighted. A good film needs a fitting introduction - and then pops a reef out of the speakers that I myself would not expect from Slayer, Kreator and his associates so. "Go To Hell" is - in my opinion - one of the best VADER numbers at all and is the perfect opener for this incredibly strong disc. The production is excellent, powerful and yet differentiated. Drums, bass, guitars - everything is great staged. The characteristic vocals are optimally positioned.
VADER understand it at all times to combine raw power with great melodies and riffs that stick and desire to make ever new cycles of this brilliant album. Each song is strong, "Triumph Of Death" is another highlight with a catchy chorus and excellent guitar work. The hymn-like "Mean Streets" offers bombastic keyboard-walls at the beginning. "The Eye Of The Abyss" conjures up varying ambience opening a fat goose bumps, "The Light Reaper" then pops back at supersonic speed into the earcups. With "The End" then place the regular tracklist her dignified end.
The bonus tracks "Necropolis" in Polish and "Satan 's new clothes" (which I cover) falls a little out of the ordinary, but are a nice complement to a perfect disk anyway.
It is almost inconceivable that VADER this level can beat once more - but that I thought the last time indeed already. Hopefully this exceptional troupe holds still long by and gives us even more Hammer albums like "Et Tibi Igni"!
