The Archer 2A is powered by two standard AA batteries and is therefore always ready for use. The brightness of 272 lumens ande passed is realistic when used with 1.5V batteries and it is hardly possible more power with standard AA batteries to achieve reliably. In addition, the brightness is also achieved with 1.2V Ni-MH batteries. However, Li-ion can not be used here, because although a li-ion would be possible, but a pipe is present here for two batteries and> 8 V are not recommended. Because it is also sold as 1C version with CR123 and Li-Ion batteries, which are slightly thicker, the wall thickness at the AA models with just 1mm is very thick, which makes it extremely stable lamp.
Small point of criticism: the strobe mode is not hidden but must always be connected. The currently selected mode is saved and can be without blinking by turning the head changed.
The photograph is very even and deep reflector provides a high range and a tight spot.
Unfortunately, there is in the low light modes PWM effects. The frequency is indeed sufficient high that it is not so much bother, but at photos I would not use the lamp.
