Let's go one on the game in general. DS3 linked quite clean at the second part of the trilogy. Very nicely done I felt about the snowy prologue (which somehow reminded me of Lost Planet * * Schmunzel), which, although basically not necessary to follow the events, however, can answer some questions that arise in the last chapters of the campaign. While it is relatively difficult to describe without spoilers, but DS3 is the first game of the series which performs a different on so many venues. I saw the innovation of changing venues than just exactly what it is ... innovative and entertaining. The old fleet of SCAF was in my opinion largest jewel of the game. It brought a lot of atmosphere with them and made a curious to search in zero gravity the old wrecks from and explore.
In order to keep the spoiler really short, let's go one on the essentials.
Graphics: What comes to mind immediately compared to its predecessor with DS3 that the graphics in some places was better and worse at others. There were a lot of textures from Dead Space 2 is recycled, which is apparently more successful than bad law. Thus, for example. many textures on doors, posters in lockers or even the textures of the opponents (yes I take the time to look at all) rather quite grainy and very blurred. Really essential texture files as those of the suits, the weapons and the characters are quite well, but do not stand out all too much of DS2.
DS3 offers compared to Part 2 some extensions to the range of effects. These include for example details as the displacement of the snow when you trudge through deeper layers through (I know there was no snow in DS2 ...) and that snow and ice on the suit sets when you walk through a blizzard. I find these influences and the environment very nicely done and nice to look at. Effects such as explosions, etc are not really distinguishable from the second part of the series ... they look solid and well presented.
Synchronization: The voice of the game has often been criticized, while this is also another one of those wrongly shown as the black sheep aspect of the game. It is true the English voice my taste though rather more, however, the German version of which is solid and quite consistent. Especially good you realize this example. with automated announcements on a ship (eg. on the CMS Greely) where the German language edition again shines. What was a first negative noticed that the speaker of Isaac Clarke was apparently replaced. But even if it initially sounds strange and novel, you get used to it very quickly. Frankly my new voice like good fits for displaying the character and can be calmly reused.
Gameplay + combat system: Who the control of Dead Space 2 was accustomed to having with that of Dead Space 3 absolutely no problem and gets along immediately. The interface has been kept quite classic, the target system is of a centered to a classic mode and you feel so quickly into old habits returned to be exchanged.
The fights themselves were more numerous and more hectic, which is also a personal criticism on my part to DS 3. The opponents are somewhat too numerous and pressing a so partially a little on the nerve, they could well cut by half in some passages. On the one hand, it is also somehow logical that one is literally stormed by Necromorphs as a Schwarmvehalten distinguishes those sometimes even from. However, the gameplay quite strongly differs from the first part and then all to conservative players will not come particularly at their expense. Of course, the first part of the trilogy was legendary, but can not maintain any consequence in the same game style you ... it would simply bored quickly. Moreover, it was already foreseeable with Dead Space 2, that the game would develop in a somewhat actionlastigere future. Most, however, border on exaggeration and dramatization reviews.
But back to the core issue, which was not particularly liked me also the excessive weakening of simple melee (beat / stomp), but it was nevertheless implemented tools which were originally meant only for close combat. Nevertheless was the mere beat to death of opponents or stepping on them it is no longer effective and is superfluous (stasis + Suggest saved ammunition eg. In DS2)
Story / Coop + Season: The Story of DS3 is not really complex and mentally demanding. It builds on knowledge from part one and two on quite well, while offering DS3 most Enblicke and explanations surrounding the phenomenon marker and its origin. DS3 performs as has been said to always different scenes ... of very old wrecked spaceships, over snow ice landscapes, leave a complex system of SCAF Science Division and to the ur-old alien ruins. All acts staged Stimming and contributes very well with the storyline. For the first time, however, there is a Dead Space title a co-op for the campaign, the possibility that is surprisingly well done. The Coop offers depending gespielem character even different events which precisely concern that character and so illuminate the backgrounds better (Sgt. Carver).
Totally absurd was the In some criticisms that Dead Space 3 would have "too short". Dead Space 3 is the first part of the series side missions that can be accessed independent of the main story, as well as their own side quests just for the co-op mode. (In this case, this is sending you a Kritkpunkt my part because it so for a complete 100% completion of the game use the co-op mode MUST) The far greater explorable areas than in the predecessors and the side missions is the effektve season in Dead Space 3 even longer than its predecessor.
Recent changes in weapons + ammo: A rather than "experimentally" empfunde innovation was the crafting system in weapons and equipment. Already playing first occurred to me that the weapon slots have been cut from four to only two slots. But this had to have some reason ... you could with the new system Craft manufacture and eg a lot of different weapons with different characteristics. also make a combination of two weapons. It has refrained from the old system upgrade with the Power Nodes and we resorted to a much more versatile system with back boards, which, however, does offer until later in the game more inovative better adapt to the needs of the player provides. All in all, the crafting system a good impression and you spend compared to Dead Space and Dead Space 2 a little more time at the workbench (long live the experiment!)
Practically also the uniform ammo for all weapon types, this preserved in numerous essays the overview and helped one so well to practice more inventory space (which is also needed by many collectible components and circuit boards)
Innovations suits / upgrades: Dead Space 3 so provides as its predecessor once again the opportunity to change his clothes. A personal plus point for me was that the bonus effects have been painted in certain suits as in the predecessor. You could be so upgrading RIG system regardless of the suit, in fact, the selected suit had only a cosmetic effect.
What people see this as a negative, I look again to be particularly positive. You could finally bear Isaac let what one liked itself illogical and bonus effects on weapon damage as in DS2 belonged to the past.
Innovations Inventory / Items: The dimensions of Inventares were retained basically and in accordance with the habit, but new is the independent section of Inventares be stored where collectable items such as Somat Gel, scrap metal, tungsten, etc which in turn are required for crafting , Those materials (especially tungsten) dissolves in the truest sense of the word from a certain acquisitiveness to always more options to be able to craft better items and always open. A good innovation which fresh material in the game brought (oh man ... silly puns)
All in all I find in Dead Space 3 lot of positive, but also negative points that could be done better. It's just what it is ... a new alternative under the name "Dead Space" which makes use of numerous, partly excellent integrated innovations.
In some area differs DS3 a little too far from its roots from, but I found it even more extensively than Dead Space Player quite fun and will here not understand some all too exaggerated poorly performing reviews. It should be every even make an impression of it, because despite all the negative criticism I experienced eg. quite a pleasant surprise.
