After my old Gigaset spirit unfortunately gave up after about 8 years, I was now spoiled for choice.
Since me the AS285 has priced very appealing and my previous experience with various Gigasets Anyway failed entirely positive, I chose this phone.
Since it has been so criticized here, the handset would not log on to the base and the batteries would not load: One should perhaps even read the instructions.
The first application takes a good 5 minutes. It took me a little longer but I wanted to lead a urgent phone call, I was the very matter.
And the first charge of the battery takes even 8 hours. After I put the phone on the base unit, the battery level indicator for 5 hours showed only a stroke. So do not complain equal, the batteries would not be charged. Patience is because the motto.
For phone itself:
The matt gray front and matt & glossy black housing, the Gigaset acts anything but cheap. The build quality is solid and there is no fear that the phone immediately shatters into its individual parts, it should fall yet again.
The buttons are easy to operate and respond well. The response time of the phone has compared to the Gigaset that I know so far, significantly improved. The manual is actually almost superfluous, since the menus are clear and self-explanatory. I can consistently only good things about the voice quality.
The phone itself is very comfortable to hold. It is not easy, and certainly not too heavy. Because the front is slightly convex, the phone is also very pleasant to the ear of (owners of phones with absolutely straight front feel might know that it is "wrong" feels the phone somehow uncomfortable or).
What I liked a lot abenfalls that you can phone (like my old Gigaset) stand vertically when times times used the speakerphone. It is very stable, as long as you do not run in front of the table.
Conclusion:
Once again a Gigaset, behind the phones from other manufacturers can hide given the quality and the price-performance ratio. The Gigaset AS285 convinces completely and is recommended without exception. Mispurchases to do elsewhere. ;-)
